I saw this movie over the weekend...with the rest of America. Well, I'd say that mostly, it was a right wing audience. I'd say it brought people to the movies that may never go to the movies, so that's cool. What wasn't cool...was the movie. It was very average. The acting was sub par. It lacked emotion...it lacked suspense...it lacked any direction. It was empty to me. And...there was a fake baby. WTF. That is just lazy. If it doesn't work, don't do it.
I will say that American Sniper's trailer was one of the best I've seen. It's captivating and it lured me in. I wanted to see it based on those few minutes. THAT person did their job. Clint didn't do his job. The actors were flat. I just feel that there could have been more here. I think it was the fault of the director. Script, maybe. But just how it was filmed...boring, flat.
The ending just happened. We are told what happens to him. Not that I want to see it, but we don't even understand why. There was no context given. SHOW us...don't tell us. Let us feel scared...uncomfortable. I'd say that goes for the entire movie. I wasn't nervous or scared at all. I wasn't moved at all. It was FLAT.
Bradley is nominated for this thing. ???? Don't get that at all. Gosh...I'm so negative, but seriously, I don't get the hype.
